Ashley Harkness is a painter, an artist who cannot help but feel connected to the medium itself. Ashley has spent many years traveling and working on projects in different parts of the world, that involved the use of paint to achieve various effect. He has worked for and collaborated with great designers and decorators such as Northern Irish Designer Suzanne Garuda who have helped train and develop him with his craft.
Ashley has an innate appreciation and instinctive understanding of patinas, texture and colour that naturally occur in materials such as stone, wood and metals.
His love of natural environments, traveling and interest in architecture particularly provincial Mediterranean villages is reflected in subtle colour washes and lime wash finishes for inside as well as exterior stucco walls. These natural earthy and sometimes rustic finishes work equally well in both classical and contemporary situations.
These finishes can be applied to most substrates where paint will adhere.
